Our beach-front dive lodge is situated in the small diving town of Umkomaas, 50km south of Durban and 80kms south of Durban's International Airport in South Africa.

Every room at ScubaAddicts Dive Lodge has 100% ocean views over-looking the Indian Ocean, miles of sandy beaches and the Aliwal Shoal, rated as one of the top shark diving sites in the world!

Our on-site dive centre means no daily transfers between your accommodation and dive centre! Just wake-up, roll out of bed, enjoy breakfast over-looking the ocean and go shark diving at the Aliwal Shoal in South Africa - awesome!

The Rooms

All the rooms at ScubaAddicts Lodge & Dive Centre have 100% ocean views from the room and the private balcony, overlooking miles of sandy beaches, the Indian Ocean and the Aliwal Shoal.

Every Room has private en-suite facilities with showers and are available as single occupancy [king size bed], twin occupancy [2 x single beds] & double occupancy [king size bed].

The rooms are serviced daily.

       

Breakfast

Our continental breakfast is served at the lodge over-looking the ocean and includes a selection of cereals, yoghurts, fresh fruit salad, toast, cheese, jams, orange juice, tea and coffee.


Lunch

After the diving, lunch is served at the lodge either at the pool or over-looking the ocean. We offer a range of burgers, toasted sandwiches, salads as well as a variety of daily specials.


Dinner

Each evening we offer dinner at the lodge which include many local meals, general favorites and traditional braai [BBQ] nights or you can go to a local restaurants, we will provide transport.

On-site dive centre

Our on-site dive centre means no daily transfers between your accommodation and the diving, wake-up, roll out of bed and go shark diving at the Aliwal Shoal.

The dive centre has a large kit-up area, rinse tanks, hot showers & gear storage.

Swimming Pool Area

Our swimming pool area is perfect for you to relax after the days shark diving. We have a shallow seated pool where you can enjoy a drink and a deeper pool to relax in. For the sunseekers, there are many sunloungers around the pools.

Chill Out Area

Our chill-out area [known locally as a lapa] is perfect to enjoy the outdoors while staying out of the sun.

Enjoy a drink, a good book or even an afternoon snooze in the ocean breeze!

Beach Access

Our dive lodge over-looks the Indian Ocean, Aliwal Shoal and miles of sandy beaches. Enjoy an afternoon walk along the beach, explore the rock pools or just relax on the beach.

Braai [B.B.Q.] Area

Our BBQs [known locally as a braai], provides many nights of entertainment as our staff prepare the meals.

Braais are a big part of South African culture, nothing beats a good steak with a couple of drinks to end a great day!

Transport

Transport is always available at the lodge for transfers to the airport, local shops, restaurants, bars, shopping malls, curio shops or any other places as required. We also offer daily excursions to many places of interest.

TV Lounge [Satellite TV]

Our lounge area overlooks the ocean and is ideal for relaxing, watching T.V [satellite], DVDs or just chatting to other divers about the days shark diving.

Local Excursions

We offer half-day & full-day excursions, ideal for the afternoons after the diving, non-diving partners or if the weather prevents us from diving. These can be booked when you are here, we can take care of the transfers [see below].

Tala Private Safari Park

Tala is a private safari park situated an hour inland from the ScubaAddicts Lodge & Dive Centre.

The park spans over about 3000 hectares and the area is a mix of acacia thornveld, open grassland and wetlands, providing some fantastic game and bird watching and photography.

The reserve is home to over 380 bird species and many species of africa's land animals including rhino, hippo, giraffe, zebra, ostrich, buffalo, wildebeest and many species of buck including impala, kudu, nyala and much more.

The safari drives are in open game vehicles with a qualified guide.

uShaka Marine World - Durban

uShaka is situated in Durban, South Africa about 40-mins north of ScubaAddicts Lodge & Dive Centre and has fast become one of the key attraction on Durban's Golden Mile, offering entertainment, excitement, fun and uniqueness.

uShaka Marine World is the 5th largest aquarium in the world and together with Wet and Wild waterpark [home to Africa's highest water slide], the Village Walk [a shoppers paradise], Ushaka Beach & the many different restaurants and bars, uShaka has something for everyone.

Croc World

Croc World is 5-minutes away from ScubaAddicts Lodge & Dive Centre and perfect for a couple of hours watching the many [12000] crocodiles as they bask in the sun. On most days there is a crocodile feeding which gives you the chance to hear the high powered jaw slaming shut. Croc world is also home to 1000s of birds [most of them wild] that enjoy the protection of the area.

Many of South Africa's snake species are also on display.

Other things in the area

There are many other things to do, depending on what your requirements.

Scottburgh Beach is 10-minutes away and has lifeguards, there is a restaurant over-looking the area and you can hire surfboards or enjoy swimming in the waves. There is also a large tidal pool.

Golf is also available about 5-mins away from the lodge at the Umkomaas Golf Course. This is an 18-hole course with some fantastic views over the ocean.
