About the Diving

'SharkWeek' has been designed to operate like a liveaboard, all divers arrive on the same day so we don't need to restrict dive sites by doing check dives with new divers each day.

During 'SharkWeek' you will dive with the many species of shark found on the reefs between the Aliwal Shoal & Protea Banks. We also have a huge variety of other marine life including whales, dolphin, many species of ray, turtles, morays, game fish & much more.

Our dives start with fantastic launches from the Umkomaas River or from the beach through the surf. The depth of the dives varies from around 15-meters to 35-meters depending on the dive sites and we can have some strong currents.

We offer a Shark Guarantee - Sharks or your diving is FREE !

Shark Diving

Our shark diving take place on the reefs between the Aliwal Shoal & Protea Banks. Each day we select the dive sites best suited to the days conditions to give us the best possible chance of seeing the most sharks.

The sharks you will encounter on our daily shark dives include Ragged Tooth Sharks, Oceanic Blacktip Sharks, Dusky Sharks, Hammerhead Sharks, Whitetip Reef Sharks, Guitar Sharks, Bull Sharks, Tiger Sharks and on occasions other species.

Baited Tiger Shark Dives

The Tiger Shark diving will rate as one of the top-5 dives you will ever do. The dive takes place on the southern end of the Aliwal Shoal. We create an odour corridor to attract the sharks. Once the sharks arrive we enter the water to observe the sharks in their natural enviroment.

Over many years of diving with Tiger Sharks at the Aliwal Shoal, we have experienced many behaviour patterns and this knowledge enables us to experience up close encounters with these fantasic creatures.

We generally have between two and six [but can be nine or more] Tiger Sharks as well as many Blacktip Sharks, Dusky Sharks and on occasion other species of sharks.

Before the Tiger Shark Dive, we will give a full briefing to help you to understand their behaviour and how we behave in return. Tiger Sharks are very shy, they are also very inquisitive and intelligent animals which is why they are one of the ocean's apex predators and deserve the highest respect.

The Tiger Shark Dive is a truly amazing experience.....
