Package Itinerary & Costs


Day 1 : Arrive Durban & Transfer to ScubaAddicts Lodge -- Overnight ScubaAddicts Dive Lodge, South Africa.

We will meet you at Durban International Airport or other pick-up points as required. You can arrive at anytime during the day. You will be transferred [+/- 50mins] to ScubaAddicts Lodge, where you will meet the team. In the evening you enjoy dinner at the lodge. Day 2 : Shark Diving - [2 x Shark Dives] -- Overnight ScubaAddicts Dive Lodge, South Africa.

We meet at 7am for breakfast before moving down to the on-site dive centre to kit-up and prepare for the diving.

The first dive today will give you a chance to check your gear and get your weighting comfortable and will take place somewhere shallow on the reef. The second dive will be the start of the shark action. Our shark dives during the Sardine Run takes place on the reefs of the Aliwal Shoal in South Africa. During our winter months, the reefs are home to hundreds of Ragged Tooth Sharks. We also have a number of other species around during this period including Oceanic Blacktip Sharks, Dusky Sharks, Copper Sharks [Bronze Whalers] and on occasion Tiger Sharks.

After the diving we return to the dive lodge where there are hot showers and a secure wet-room to store your gear, ready for the next days shark diving. In the afternoons if the conditions allow we offer extra diving or you can enjoy the afternoon relaxing at the lodge, walk on the beach or visiting local attractions. Day 3 : Shark Diving - [2 x Shark Dives] -- Overnight ScubaAddicts Dive Lodge, South Africa.

Meet at 7am for breakfast before moving down to the dive centre to kit-up and prepare for the diving. The diving starts with a launch from the Umkomaas river or beach depending on the dive sites and tide. Enjoy two more shark dives looking for the different shark species found on the Aliwal Shoal during winter During our winter months including Ragged Tooth Sharks, We also have a number of other species around during this period including Oceanic Blacktip Sharks, Dusky Sharks, Copper Sharks [Bronze Whalers] and on occasion Tiger Sharks.

After the diving we return to the dive lodge where there are hot showers and a secure wet-room to store your gear, ready for the next days shark diving. Day 4 : Transfer to Port St. Johns -- Sardine Run diving -- Overnight Cremorne Estate, Port St Johns, South Africa.

An early morning rise for breakfast and then we transfer south to Cremorne Estate in Port St. Johns [about 4-hours]. On the way we receive updates about the Sardine Run movements and the boat will be ready and waiting when we arrive to launch and spend the rest of the day out at sea diving the Sardine Run. Get up close & personal with almost every species of marine animal including birds, dolphin, game fish, whales & sharks and millions of sardines.

In the late afternoon we return to shore to check into your room. The upmarket lodge overlooks the river and has en-suite facilities. There is a fantastic restaurant and bar where you can enjoy a enjoy a drink and a meal and get to meet the rest of the ScubaAddicts team. Day 5 : Full Day Sardine Run diving -- Overnight Cremorne Estate, Port St Johns, South Africa.

Day 11 : Airport Transfers to Durban International Airport or extend your stay.

After breakfast we depart Port St Johns for transfers back to Durban International Airport where we will bid you farewell. Flights need to depart Durban International Airport after 4PM to ensure you have enough time to check in etc.

If you cannot get flights after 4PM, we can arrange overnight accommodation and airport transfers the following day.

Situated on the Umzimvubu River the accommodation has fantastic views with all rooms overlooking the river. Rooms are available as single rooms, twin rooms or double rooms which all have en-suite bathroom [with showers] & private balconies. Each morning breakfast is served on a deck over-looking the river. Diving the Sardine Run : - Port St. Johns, South Africa

Each morning we receive updates about the Sardine Run action and movements before deciding where to dive. Our days are ruled by nature, we spend most of the day at sea, following the action as the dolphin work together to separate the sardines into bait balls. The noise of the diving gannets, the speed of the dolphin, the sharks and the whales coming in to join in on the feast is amazing. >> more info

The Sardine Run takes place annually during June & July. We select the middle 4-weeks to ensure we are in Port St. Johns over the very best time for the Sardine Run. If the dates above don't suit your requirements, please contact us and we will do our best to accommodate you.
