The main species of shark include Tiger Sharks, Bull Sharks, Hammerhead Sharks, Spinner Sharks, Grey Reef Sharks, Leopard Sharks, Whitetip Reef Sharks and more.
Whilst the main attractions are sharks, Ponta Do Ouro is home to a huge variety of marine animals including Dolphin, Turtles, Mantas, Devil Rays, Eagle Rays, Moray Eels, Game Fish, Paperfish and much more!

The shark diving in Ponta Do Ouro takes place mainly on the Pinnacles but you can also see sharks on other reefs.
We have dived with 17-species of shark in Ponta Do Ouro including Tiger Sharks, Hammerhead Sharks, Bull Sharks, Silvertip Sharks, Blacktip Sharks, Whale Sharks, Spinner Sharks, Dusky Sharks, Java Sharks, Grey Reef Sharks, Ragged Tooth Sharks, Great Hammerhead Sharks, Whitetip Reef Sharks, Leopard Sharks, Nurse Sharks, Guitar Sharks and even Great White Sharks.
Water temperature is between 24C and 27C during the summer [Sep to May] and 21C and 24C in the winter [Jun to Aug].
The reefs of Ponta Do Ouro offers a huge diversity of marine-life which ranges from Sharks, Dolphin, Paperfish, Frogfish and Spanish Dancers to Honeycomb Eels, Round Ribbontail Rays, many species of Turtle and a huge amount of reef fish, pelagic fish and many species of reef fish.
The annual Humpback Whale migration passes the coast of Ponta Do Ouro each year between June and October.
Enjoy the sights of the breaching whales from the lodge as well as from the boats.
