Whilst the main attractions are sharks, Ponta Do Ouro is home to a huge variety of marine animals including Dolphin, Turtles, Mantas, Devil Rays, Eagle Rays, Moray Eels, Game Fish, Paperfish and much more!

About the Accommodation

Your accommodation is situated in Ponta Do Ouro and has an amazing deck over-looking the Indian Ocean.
The beach and the dive centre are just a few minutes walk from the lodge.
All rooms have en-suite facilities, air-conditioning and the rooms are serviced daily.
The lodge offers free Wi-Fi Internet Access and has an amazing swimming pool area.

Shark Diving Ponta Do Ouro

The shark diving in Ponta Do Ouro takes place mainly on the Pinnacles but you can also see sharks on other reefs.

We have dived with 17-species of shark in Ponta Do Ouro including Tiger Sharks, Hammerhead Sharks, Bull Sharks, Silvertip Sharks, Blacktip Sharks, Whale Sharks, Spinner Sharks, Dusky Sharks, Java Sharks, Grey Reef Sharks, Ragged Tooth Sharks, Great Hammerhead Sharks, Whitetip Reef Sharks, Leopard Sharks, Nurse Sharks, Guitar Sharks and even Great White Sharks.

The reefs of Ponta Do Ouro also offers a huge diversity in other marine-life which includes Dolphin, Paperfish, Frogfish, Spanish Dancers, Honeycomb Eels, Round Ribbontail Rays, many species of Turtle and a huge amount of reef and pelagic fish.

The annual Humpback Whale migration passes the coast of Ponta Do Ouro each year between June and October.

Enjoy the sights of the breaching whales from the lodge as well as from the boats.

Water temperature is between 24C and 27C during the summer [Sep to May] and 21C and 24C in the winter [Jun to Aug].

Typical Day

After breakfast, meet at the dive centre to kit-up and prepare for the days shark diving in Ponta Do Ouro.
Each day you will experience two dives on the reefs of Ponta Do Ouro, Mozambique.
The diving starts with a surf launch from the beach before diving with the many species of shark found in Ponta Do Ouro.
After the shark diving, return to the lodge where there are hot showers and a secure wet-room to store your gear.
Spend the afternoon relaxing around the pool, walking on the beach or visit a local attraction.
In the evening enjoy dinner at one of the local restaurants.

When you arrive at Maputo Airport you will be met and transferred to Ponta Do Ouro.
