The main shark species found at the Aliwal Shoal include Tiger Sharks, Ragged Tooth Sharks, Blacktip Sharks, Hammerhead Sharks, Bull Sharks, Guitar Sharks, Whitetip Reef Sharks and more!

The Protea Banks are another top-rated shark diving location, and are situated about 7-km off-shore from Shelly Beach
Home to many species of shark, the Protea Banks offer amazing diving with Tiger Sharks, Bull Sharks, Hammerhead Sharks, Ragged Tooth Sharks, Blacktip Sharks, Dusky Sharks, Whitetip Reef Sharks, Guitar Sharks and many species of pelagic game fish.
