During June & July each year the annual Sardine Run in South Africa takes place along the east coast and
we move our dive centre to Cremorne Estate in Port St. Johns, rated as the best location for the annual
Sardine Run in South Africa.
Each morning we launch to enjoy the amazing action that accompanies the mass migration of
millions of sardines. We follow the action watching as the dolphin work together to seperate the
sardines into bait balls before the birds, dolphin, sharks & whales
join in on the feast is amazing.

Why Port St. Johns ?
Over the past few years the Sardine Run in South Africa
has not always reached the KwaZulu Natal coastline and we have not had huge shoals on the
reefs between the Aliwal Shoal & Protea Banks so we decided to move south during the Sardine Run & operate from Cremorne Estate in Port St. Johns.
There are still operators that offer Sardine Run packages on the reefs of the Aliwal Shoal &
Protea Banks with the back-up of local diving when the Sardine Run doesn't happen but we would rather
be in the right place at the right time.
