The Aliwal Shoal in South Africa offers a huge diversity of shark species.
The main species of shark include Ragged Tooth Sharks, Tiger Sharks, Bull Sharks, Hammerhead Sharks, Dusky Sharks, Guitar Sharks, Whitetip Reef Sharks and more. Whilst the main attractions are sharks, the reefs the Aliwal Shoal are home to a huge variety of marine animals including Dolphin, Turtles, Mantas, Devil Rays, Eagle Rays, Moray Eels, Game Fish, Paperfish and much more!

When you arrive at Durban Airport you will be met and transferred to Umkomaas.
Please do not book flights until you have confirmed availability and we are holding your space/s.
Your accommodation is situated in the small diving town of Umkomaas and is just a 10-minute walk from the beach.
The dive centre is on-site at the lodge. All rooms have en-suite facilities and rooms are serviced daily.
The lodge offers free Wi-Fi Internet Access, Satellite TV and has an amazing swimming pool area.
Just wake-up, roll out of bed and go shark diving - awesome!
The Aliwal Shoal is situated about 5-kms from the small diving town of Umkomaas and is rated as one of the top shark diving sites in the world.
Shark Diving on the Aliwal Shoal takes place on either the reefs or the wrecks. The Aliwal Shoal is home to many species of shark including Tiger Sharks, Ragged Tooth Sharks, Blacktip Sharks, Bull Sharks, Hammerhead Sharks, Guitar Sharks, Whitetip Reef Sharks and more.
The baited shark diving takes place on the southern end of the Aliwal Shoal with the main focus of the baited dives being Tiger Sharks, you often get other species of shark on the dives including Blacktip Sharks, Dusky Sharks, Bull Sharks and sometimes others.
The Aliwal Shoal is also home to a huge variety of other marine life including Dolphin, Turtles, Rays, Eels, Game Fish, Reef fish and more.
Water temperature ranges between 23C and 25C during the summer [September to May] and 20C and 22C in the winter [June to August].
After breakfast meet at the dive centre to kit-up and prepare for the days shark diving on the Aliwal Shoal.
Each day you will experience two dives on the reefs and wrecks of the Aliwal Shoal.
The diving starts with a surf launch from the beach before heading off to dive with the many species of shark found on the Aliwal Shoal.
After the shark diving return to the lodge where there are hot showers and a secure wet-room to store your gear.
Spend the afternoon relaxing around the pool, walking on the beach or visit a local attraction.
In the evening enjoy dinner at one of the local restaurants.
